Plug handling

Transplanting, sorting or both?
Get to know our plug handling machines

Every grower does it a little differently. Whether you grow in gutters, floats, trays or pots, our plug handling machines handle it all effortlessly. Moving, assessing and distributing plugs automatically: from complex four-lane sorting to precise transplanting. Always fast, uniform and with minimal plant contact.

Transplanting

Transferring 900 rows of plugs an hour. Impossible? Our transplanters take it in their stride. Individually controlled grippers with needles transfer every plug precisely, whatever you grow in: flexible, uniform and with minimal plant contact. And if you want a firmer grip on quality? It can also be done with Aris camera technology, which assesses every plug before it is planted.

Sorting

One tray in, four classifications out. The sorter assesses every plant with Aris camera technology and distributes the plants objectively by size and quality. Individually controlled grippers pick up every plug carefully and place it in the right outlet: large plants here, small ones there, the intermediate class separately and waste out. Reliable, error-free and reproducible. And the data from every sorting run? The machine records it, so you can see exactly what you have sorted.

Assess, decide, place

Every gripper moves independently of the rest. That is where the flexibility of Smart Plug Handling sits. Individually controllable, motorised grippers pick up and place every plug separately. Add sensors and the machine assesses every plant, draws a conclusion from that and determines where the plug ends up. That makes a transplanter or sorter more flexible and more efficient. So SPH is not a separate machine, but a smart layer on top of work you already do. Launched in 2020 and wildly popular ever since.

Customer case Berkshire

Berkshire transformed an existing greenhouse into a modern hydroponic lettuce facility. Transplanting is an important part of the entire production process. It is labour-intensive manual work and largely determines the speed and reliability of production.

The transplanter is a critical link. The grippers move every plug precisely and reliably, labour is reduced and capacity increased. That makes an economically viable production model like Berkshire possible.

Waarom SPH

Pot, tray, goot of float? We bouwen de machine rond jouw systeem, niet andersom. Zo past de machine in iedere lijn, bij elk fust en bij iedere kweker.
